No matter how much effort any other platform makes, Netflix is currently “The King” of online video streaming. Over time, Netflix developed from being a “by mail” DVD renting/delivery company to an all-out online video streaming platform.

It was back in 1997 when Netflix was launched as a DVD renting and selling platform that was known for delivering the DVDs by mail. As time passed by and the internet managed to make its way to every household, Netflix decided to move on. The company has managed to keep up with the technological advancements and trends in the video movies and entertainment sector.

Netflix started its online streaming service back in 2007 and since then, it has been conquering the online video streaming industry. According to recent figures, Netflix currently has more than 200 million subscribers, making it the platform with the highest number of viewers.

As a result of the above, Netflix is currently the King of online streaming, which does not seem that it would lose its throne. However, the platform has no plans of letting any other online streaming network de-thrown it.

After making its name in the American and European market, Netflix is now planning to go big in the Asian market. It has been observed that Asia is turning up to be one of the fastest-growing markets for Netflix.

According to figures, Netflix saw more than 9.3 million subscribers join the streaming giant from the Asian Pacific region in the last year. The total number of subscribers that joined Netflix from the Asia Pacific region in 2020 is 65% more than what it was back in 2019.

The sources also confirm that the revenue for the Asian Pacific region soared to up to 62%. The increase in revenue is even more than what was experienced in Africa, Europe, and Middle-East. As compared to the Asian Pacific region, Middle-East, Africa, and Europe had experienced a 40% increase in their revenue respectively.

After observing a huge surge in the subscribers-base, Netflix has now upped its game in the Asian Pacific region. It has been revealed by Netflix that it is now going to target the Asian market with more content and data to the stream.

It is now planning to double the amount of original content in the region that it was currently offering in the region until 2020. The platform is now aiming to attract more subscribers from South Korea, Japan, Indian, Pakistan, and more countries.

However, Netflix currently has no plans of expanding its service into the Chinese region. As for now, Netflix will not be touching the Chinese region and has no such plans for targeting the country any time soon.
