While countries from around the world continue sending aid and help to the Indian soil to fight off the pandemic, the situation is becoming direr in the country. Even the Indian entrepreneurs and influential personalities working as executives in tech giants have started generating funds for Indian people.

Unfortunately, the number of COVID-19 cases in the country is still at large and things do not seem to be coming under control. On Thursday, May 6. India has shared yet another figure for daily COVID-19 cases, which has broken all previous records set by the country itself.

According to the reports, the Indian government on Wednesday, May 5 recorded 412,262 COVID-19 cases. This goes to show that the COVID-19 second wave has taken a huge toll on the Indian population. Despite all the help from all over the world, the country with the world’s second-largest population is still facing huge problems with its healthcare system.

Due to the COVID-19, the entire country has taken a huge fall in terms of its medical system and if the situation does not get better, the daily COVID-19 case reporting will continue to rise.

The most shocking situation in India at present is the total number of cases being reported in the country on a daily basis. As more people keep coming in with COVID-19, the hospitals are running out of supplies and most importantly, Oxygen.

On Tuesday, the Indian government had reported that the total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the country was 20 million. Shockingly, right after two days, the total number of cases in the country has increased to 21 million.

While the country continues fighting with the COVID-19 cases coming on record high numbers day after day, the death toll in the country has also started spiking.

On Thursday, the Indian government reported the highest number of deaths recorded since the COVID-19 started. The government has revealed on Thursday that in the last 24 hours, they had recorded the record-highest deaths, 3,980.

While the Indian government firmly stands by its statements for the daily death toll, the Indian media is telling a different story. According to the Indian media, which is known for supporting the ruling government is reporting that the death toll due to COVID-19 cases is being underreported.

The media sources have now gone against the Indian government, claiming that the Indian government is trying to hide its incompetence by tampering with figures.

The government is doing it so it does not have to face much embarrassment in front of the entire world. However, the Indian government has already received huge negative criticism from global media sources.

The media channels from around the world are talking about how Narendra Modi’s government let the religious festivals and political rallies go on as normal even when the country was on high alert.
