With every passing week and month, the demand for electric cars is growing all over the world. Countries that are aiming to become eco-friendly and become polluted are growing more and more attracted more electric car companies.
As more demand and potential is being observed in this sector, many traditional companies have started going electric. This time, it is the company “Jeep” that has unveiled a new vehicle that will be an all-electric vehicle.
However, Jeep is not taking things too far with going with an entirely new concept and design for a vehicle. The America Company has taken a different approach and has re-invented one of the most prominent SUVs it has ever produced.
As per reports, Jeep has re-invented the Wrangler SUV as an all-electric vehicle that is currently in the concept phase. The company has announced that the Jeep enthusiasts wanting to get their hands on the electric version of Wrangler SUV will have to wait a couple of years.
The company has hinted that for now, it is only working on the concept and design of the vehicle. It has to make necessary changes in order to keep the look for the vehicle, change the engine part with car batteries. On top of that, the company also has to integrate new and high-end gadgets to the vehicle in order to keep its traditional look.
The announcement was made by Jeep for the unveiling of the new all-electric SUV on Monday, March 22, 2021. The American jeep manufacturing company has revealed that the name of the new all-electric Wrangler would be “Magneto”.
The vice president of Jeep in the North American region, Jim Morrison talked about the new wrangler’s concept that the developers are currently working on. Morrison stated that although it will be an all-electric version, yet it will be manufactured as a rock-climbing, stealthy, and sustainable force.
He also clarified one concern that the wrangler enthusiasts had regarding the operability of the concept car. He stated that the new Wrangler Magneto will be introduced as a 4×4 jeep and will be built as a zero-emissions vehicle.
Following the announcement of the new all-electric wrangler, Morrison revealed that going-forward, all new vehicles introduced by Jeep would have some sort of electrification features added to them.
Before the all-electric wrangler, Jeep had launched a hybrid electric version of the wrangler and had named it “4xe Moniker. Despite having the primary functionality of running on batteries, the plug-in hybrid cars also have the combustion engines installed.
The company has revealed that the concept it is currently using for Wrangler Magneto is derived from Wrangler Rubicon, which is a two-door wrangler from the year 2020.
