Just recently, Bobby Kotick, the CEO at Activision Blizzard has talked about the recent lawsuit that it ended up facing. It was just recently when the game-developing giant ended up facing a lawsuit. The reports suggest that the lawsuit filed against the company was submitted at the California Court.
The lawsuit was filed against Activision Blizzard under the discrimination law at the California law. According to Kotick, the company failed in responding to the lawsuit that has been filed against its employee conduct.
He admitted that the company did not respond well to the frat boy work culture that the employees at the company had been voicing against for a long time. As the company was tone-deaf against the situation, it ended up facing a huge backlash from the employees at the company.
Kotick stated that in their company, every voice matters, and every person’s concern must be heard and given full attention. He stated that in the light of the recent happenings, they have realized their mistake and how much negligent they had been.
From now on, the company is going to become very much responsible in dealing with any problems and concerns that employees may have. The company will try to do a better job from now on in offering all the support, guidance, and explanation to the employees wherever required.
Bobby Kotick even went ahead and sent an apology note to all of his employees. In the note, he admitted that he had acted very irresponsibly with the matter and earned the anger and backlash from the employees.
He said that he was sorry for not providing the right understanding and empathy to the employees. This is the reason why the employees were pushed away, which led them to take such harsh steps.
The reports suggest that the response from Bobby Kotick came in just a few hours before the employees walked out of the company. The walkout by hundreds of employees was staged on Wednesday, July 28. The employees claimed that despite several concerns being raised against harassment, gender discrimination, and unequal pay, no satisfactory attention was given from the executives.
As a result, these issues were later added to the lawsuit that was filed against the company by the employees. The lawsuit was filed against Activision Blizzard by the Department of Fair Employment and Housing of California.
Activision Blizzard is known for being one of the largest game developers such as Candy Crush, World of Warcraft, Call of Duty, Diablo Series, StarCraft, and many more.
As a result of the recent events, the share price for Activision Blizzard has experienced a 1.47% drop bringing the share price down to $83.57.
