It has now become a common thing that whenever there is a mention of the United States and Russia, the element of Cyber-Attack is always there. No matter how cool both countries may try to look in front of each other when it comes to relations, yet the cold-war between them is still ongoing.
The United States of America and Russia have been at each other’s collars for more than half a century. Although some may think to assume that the heat between the two may cool-down, yet it is becoming even more heated.
The relationship between the two countries can be exemplified with the term “Volcano” that has been building up for a very long time. However, there are possibilities that the volcano may soon erupt and cause a lot of damage to both countries.
Ever since the presidential elections that yielded Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States, the American authorities and oppositions have put the blame on the Russian government.
Since the election, the Americans have directly blamed Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia for the cyber-rigging of the elections. However, the president of Russia has always denied these allegations and talked about the incompetence of the American administration.
As per him, it is the American legislation and administration that has failed really badly in tackling the internet elements from interfering in political matters and most importantly, elections.
However, the United States of America has continued accusing Russia of being involved in distorting the elections for the year 2017. The American agencies put the blame on the cyber-army that was employed by the Russian Government to carry out the ultimate plan.
As per the agencies, this cyber-army was responsible for creating discriminatory differences among Americans through social media platforms. The agencies from the United States even pointed out the involvement of Facebook in the matter claiming that Facebook facilitated Russia in executing this plan.
This time again, the United States is holding Russia responsible for a massive cyber-attack that was carried out in the United States. The government agencies have revealed that the cyber-attack not only affected domestic companies but also managed to do the same for government systems.
The above allegations have been made by the US administration through a statement released on Sunday, March 7, 2021.
This time, it is the administration of Joe Biden (46th US President), who is putting the blame on Russia. The administration has stated that it is confident that Russia is behind the recent massive cyber-attack. The administration has revealed that they have already decided how they are going to deal with the matter.
Although the administration did not provide any specifics, yet it confirmed that it will be taking a mix of actions against Russia.
