While the rest of the world is determined to get rid of the COVID-19 from their soils, India is facing the worst time ever. Countries from all over the world have already started administering COVID vaccines to their citizens.
On the other, the second-largest country by population in the world is facing the worst time in its history since the Influenza outbreak. The country is now on the verge of losing millions of lives as they have their hospitals filled with coronavirus patients.
Even the hospitals have now run out of beds, medical equipment, medicines, and most importantly, Oxygen. Oxygen has become an alarming situation in the country amidst the chaos due to the pandemic.
Several local media sources in India have reported that coronavirus patients are losing their lives while waiting in line to be treated or on the roads, and in cars while trying to reach the hospitals.
The country currently is in a state of emergency and the number of COVID-19 cases is constantly rising by the minute. At present, the number of daily COVID-19 cases being reported in India is more than 350,000. In the last 24 hours, the total number of COVID-19 cases reported was 352,991.
This is yet another record that has been broken by India itself for hitting that many cases in a single day. According to government officials, the country has been experiencing the highest number of reported cases for the last 5 days.
For the same period, the government of India has reported that 2,812 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 were recorded. With the latest addition of the death toll, the total number of deaths recorded in India due to the COVID-19 cases has now reached 195,000.
However, the media sources in India have claimed that the death count is yet to be confirmed as the currently provided figures are incorrect. According to sources, the death count being reported by the Indian government is much less than the actual number of casualties are.
The majority of the international and local analysts and media sources are blaming the Indian government for this problem. They have blamed president Modi for not taking the third wave of the coronavirus seriously and lifting off the SOPs and lockdowns all over the country.
They have blamed Modi’s decision for letting people gather in huge crowds and rally for religious festivals, and elections. During the second wave of the pandemic, the average number of COVID-19 reported cases was 10,000 on a daily basis.
However, as the third wave of the pandemic hit, things turned ugly for the country and it is now facing the worst pandemic situation. So far, the country has broken all records reported by any other country on a daily basis.
