An Ethereum-based metaverse project, “$SAND” is set to come into reality. The project was announced way back in 2020 by The Sandbox to develop a digital skatepark. The metaverse game will be powered by the Ethereum blockchain, where a different players from around the globe can join.
$SAND: Tony Hawk’s First Project in Metaverse
The project will be partnered with Autograph and Tony Hawks, which marks their first ever project in space. The proposed game will be built on the ETH blockchain to allow players to develop and monetize their gaming. A utility token (SAND) will be integrated for transfer, development, staking, and transactions in the space.
Tony Hawks, a retired American skateboarder, seems to be the most thrilled regarding the development. The retired sportsman turned entrepreneur is ready to make the ETH blockchain-powered project a reality.
The virtual game also allows gamers to create and upload virtual assets and properties into the space. Although, this will be done in the form of NFTs. The announcement of the collaboration was made earlier by The Sandbox via its website.
The post stated that Tony Hawk and Autograph would jointly develop the game in the metaverse space. Hawk will provide his 6 * 6 land where the game will be built. At the same time, Autograph will be taxed with developing skateboards, game materials, clothing, and other equipment.
Autograph will develop the games facilities creating an NFT avatar of Hawk. National Football League (NFL) legend, and co-founder of Autograph, Tom Brady, is the foremost supporter of the collaboration.
Brady stated that “the ETH-powered virtual platform is a perfect space for game lovers. Legendary and iconic sports, games, entertainment, and brands will be integrated via the NFT space to develop unique and memorable virtual experience and sight”.
Sandbox, the space pioneer, will develop the NFTs to be used, sold, and transacted in the open metaverse. All Avatars built by Autograph will be converted to 3D to create a game function for the owners and users.
