Now that the COVID-19 situation has started getting better and normal all over the world, the countries are planning to bring things back to normal. It has been more than a year since the world has been dealing with the pandemic and is trying to fight it off by joining hands.
With the majority of the countries now getting free from the COVID-19, the efforts to boost the economies and sectors are in order. Now the countries are hoping to boost their revenues the same way they were before the pandemic.
One of the most important sectors that were helping many countries generate high revenues was aviation and traveling. This is where countries such as Australia and New Zealand come in, which had a lot of people traveling back and forth for trips and other experiences.
The countries are considered neighbors and offer their own beauty and terrains that are extremely attractive. With things coming back to normal, these countries are aiming to restart their relations in terms of traveling.
New Zealand has reportedly taken the first step in trying to build the old bridge between the two countries in terms of traveling.
The Government of New Zealand has just made an announcement on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, in regards to travels between both countries. The NZ Government has announced that it is ready to resume the quarantine-free travels with Australia.
On Tuesday, June 29, 2021, the Australian Government has also announced that it has lifted the lockdowns on Wellington that it had placed due to COVID-19. Following the lifting of the lockdowns, the NZ Government is hoping to restart quarantine-free travels with Australia but it would start with parts of Australia.
It was on Saturday, June 26, 2021, when the government of New Zealand had announced that it was going to put a hold on the quarantine-free travels with Australia. The country was forced to make this decision due to the high number of Delta variant cases emerging from several cities from Australia, including Sydney.
As a result, the travel bubble between the two countries was put on hold until the situation would come back to normal.
Chris Hipkins, the Response Minister for COVID-19 has announced that the travel bubble will not be resumed all out in Australia. Instead, they will be enabling the travel bubble in selective areas of Australia. Hipkins has revealed that the particular areas open for the travel bubble would be ACT, Victoria, Tasmania, and South Australia.
Hipkins has stated that they are keeping a close eye on the situation and would ensure that they continue reviewing other areas in Australia. If the situation becomes favorable, they will proceed with expanding the travel bubble for other areas as well.
